Alison is a photographer and creative photo-artist. In making images she strives to discover and reveal the amazing, the unusual and the detail, constantly seeking that ‘wow’ factor. While working in most types of photography, outdoor and studio, her expertise is in wildlife, the environment, street and action. Travel to remote places has given Alison the opportunity to capture images of nature and people and reflect on the environmental challenges faced around the world.
In creating pictures using her own images, Alison aims to develop a story and loves blending the realistic with the surreal. Her work varies from political and environmental comment to steam punk and just having fun. Many of her finished works incorporate images of wildlife and scenes from around the world.
Alison regularly exhibits her work which has included her ‘Survival’ exhibition at the Tableland Regional Gallery and ‘Beyond the Lens’. Among her other works she has illustrated a children’s book with wildlife images, had an article on photo-artistry published in Better Photography magazine and created large banners for an environmental centre.
